Sports and Social Programme logoThe Forum's peer led Sports and Social activity programme has been growing year on year with more activities, more locations and more attendees across the county every day of the week.

The program aims to encourage people into in a range of sports and social activities which then increase confidence, self esteem and social skills. All the sessions are fun, friendly and enjoyable for all abilities and fitness levels - the groups are all about taking part.

The program has been set up for everyone's wellbeing so you don't need to be referred to us by a GP or a support worker to get involved.

Every one of our sessions is run by a Forum peer worker, typically someone who has previously been part of the sessions as a participant and now runs a group. These peers can offer support if required as well as signposting to other services but just as importantly they are there to ensure everyone enjoys the activity and feels part of the group.

We are very happy to receive formal referrals from services and equally happy for people to turn up to an activity on the day alone or with a friend if that helps . We are also happy to meet with new attendees beforehand to introduce ourselves and accompany them in if that would help.

As the number of events we offer has increased we have split our directory into two versions covering East & West Dorset. Please take a look at what's on in your area and contact Con at the Forum on 01305 257172 if you have any questions.
