Blandford Positive Approach Shop
The Positive Approach Shop in Blandford is a small social
enterprise which is part of the Dorset Mental Health Forum and supported by the
North Dorset Community Resource Team.
The shop sells furniture, bric a brac, books and second hand clothes but more importantly provides work and volunteering opportunities for people with mental health problems.
The Positive Approach shop aims to involve both staff and volunteers on decisions regarding how the shop is run which in turn encourages confidence and increased self esteem. For some people the experience they gain in working in the shop will prepare them for further employment.
Information regarding mental health is available in the shop and people can access the internet by dropping in.

The Positive Approach Shop has a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We are currently looking for volunteers to help with the day-to-day running of the shop. Tasks include serving customers, placing stock on display and other duties as required.
